Pre-registration for the Chihuahuan Desert Bike Fest is OPEN!!

You can always tell when it’s December at Desert Sports… suddenly everyone’s talking about the Bike Fest. Yesterday Pre-registration opened and we’ve already got six folks signed up for the adventure! 

The chat around the waterfilter yesterday was all about finalizing the ride schedule… which is hard to do for sure! There were a huge number of rides last year and it sounds like all those rides will be on the schedule again (including the 2-day Epic Options) and there’s been talk about a really exciting new “Rock House Tour”: a full day interpretive mountainbike-ranger-guided tour of significant rock ruins in the State Park.

There’s a cool new (repurposed!) bridge on the Lajitas Trails thanks to the Big Bend Trails Alliance, and thanks to the folks who support the Trails Alliance’s efforts by coming out to the Bike Fest! So it just seems like it’s all bikes, bikes, bikes all the time! Oh, and Desert Sports has just became the newest Specialized dealer in Texas; so you’ll see local guides out sporting their very own Epic Carbon 29ers… which means there’ll be some demo bikes left in the fleet for the Saturday EPIC (tee hee).
