Your Big Bend Adventure Connection

Last year’s EPIC Saturday riding!

On February 19, 2011, in conjunction with the Big Bend Ranch State Park and the Big Bend Trails Alliance and Desert Sports, the IMBA Epic Route “The Fresno/Sauceda Loop” was inaugurated by nineteen brave riders.

The official start time for the full 54+ Epic ride was 8am, and there were nine riders dressed and ready, but at least as many folks had started out before that: hoping to get a jump on the day and make it back in the guideline times.

Folks also lit out to the Rincon Loop: 18+ riders to be exact! And more than thirty folks also headed out for the Buena Suerte Ride (a Big Bend Tradition!). Most excellent support from the Big Bend Ranch State Park folks and terrfic volunteers meant that no-one ran out of water or got lost on this fabulous, hot day!

And the Kids came out in style to explore the trails closer to the highway!

And in fine West Texas Style the Austin Bike Zoo came out to the Maverick Ranch and hung out with all of us and the Bicycle Sport Shop and Bike Mojo to play some games and get ready for the evenings’ activities up at the Candelilla Restaurant and dancing to the Pinche Gringos at the Lajitas Amphitheatre.
