Volunteers

The 2008 Starlight Theatre MAS O MENOS 100 mountainbike fest could not have happenned if it wasn't for our fabulous, talented volunteers and supporters. Hundreds of folks donate lots of their time and energy to make this event great—and have a great time while they're at it!

The jobs that they do are too numerous to even count.

There are the folks who design and build and maintain and mark the cross country trails and the Kid's Kup trails. There's the folks who make the T-shirts, the flyers, the awards and the website. There's the folks who staff registration, traffic directions, food prep and food distribution. There are lots of folks who do course marshalling on event day, and who help out at the finish lines and with prize distribution.

Then there's the folks sweeping and leading out the riders on bicycles and motorcycles. There's the folks who haul water and fill waterbottles and staff the water stations. There's the folks making sure there's toilet paper in the porta-potties. There's the folks moving gates and couches and caution tape to keep the site fuctioning well during the event. There's the radio announcer, the girls selling cookies and the masseuses and the musicians at the feedzones and the most loved of all volunteers: the folks who show up on Sunday for the cleanup. The list just goes on and on!

Essential services are provided locally by The Terlingua Fire and EMS and the Big Bend Area Amateur Radio Club.
