1/10/08 – Another fabulous partnership with Lajitas Resort and Spa

Many thanks are due to the new folks at the Lajitas Resort and Spa for their generous and continuing support of mountain biking in West Texas. The famous and most excellent trails on the Lajitas property have been an integral part of every event that Desert Sports has hosted out here in the Chihuahuan Desert. The trail system is open to the public anytime (except, of course, on Race Day, February 16!!).

12/13/07 – Pre-Registration is now OPEN and accepting!

No need to hold your breath any longer! Bikereg.com is accepting on-line registrations, and forms are available to download and mail.

12/10/07 – New Revolution Cycles throws down for the King of the Hill!

Everyone who rides in Terlingua knows about the infamous climb: Tres Cuevas. And this year New Revolution Cycles, one of our fabulous sponsors, is offering a $100 bill to the fastest full Marathon climber of 2008. Yup, you read it here first folks, the first Mas O Menos 100k marathon rider to top Tres Cuevas will be awarded an extra $100 (ontop of whatever else they're winning for the day: 'cuz if you're first up the hill you're probabaly getting part of that top-ten winners payout!)

The Starlight Theatre opens the Mas o Menos Cantina once again!

There will be terrific meals presented by the Starlight Theater Bar & Restaurant. They will be open on Thursday at noon-ish and serving hot, yummy food until the end of the Fajitas Fest on Saturday night. In 2007 the folks at the Starlight Cantina were the hit of Saturday night: cooking excellent meals on-site for the ravenous beasts that streamed off the course; keeping all the cold racers full of hot and spicy goodies!

SATURDAY night! Another great band/bonfire fest to celebrate everyone's excellent day. Root Skankadelic (hoppin' boppin' reggae!) will take the stage sometime after 7 pm and we encourage everyone to dance away their lactic acid (and here's a hot tip, we give away tickets to the last of the raffle prizes ONLY to folks still dancing for the last number!)

FUN RIDES on Thursday and Friday with knowledgeable local guides. See the Fun Ride schedule for more info. Please keep in mind that we do not have any lights available for rental or loan and there will not be any electrical services for charging or recharging. Trails on private property are open for REGISTERED RIDERS ONLY.
